For sure. No guarantees with Lyon no longer waiver exempt. Even if we have Ustimenko in the ECHL that is great depth for injury call ups.

There is a chance that Carter Hart could be the 3rd best goalie in our pipeline... not likely, but man these goalie prospects are exciting. It will be great after years of facing Broduer and Lundquist..... |

Going to be interesting to see where they go for backup this upcoming season. In house or elsewhere? |

Best choices are already in-house. Can’t really imagine trying the trade market for a goalie when the other needs are larger.

The kid has skills. One injury and he is playing in LHV. He can be number 5 goalie out of 8 for this year. At least my hope this year is we start the season with 2 NHL caliber goalies on the Flyers. We now have some short term solutions for injury call ups. |

I have no problems acquiring him. He is a really skilled guy. I think Dreger said something like Toronto will have paid him over 20 mill in less than half a season. It's a good time to pick him up. |

Also to reiterate for the 1 millionth time because it was mentioned in the last blog:
Giroux has a NMC and will not be traded regardless of how he plays. He wants to be here, doesnt want to move and that is not going to change unless Fletcher or Dave Scott kick his dog or something |

If someone told me in September that Gudas would be winning the Barry Ashbee I would’ve cringed. |

No disrespect to Gudas, that is cringe worthy. I mean I'm happy for the guy and it's a bonus if he's playing well, but he can't be your best for the season if you want the Flyers to have a successful season. |

Datsyuk is coming back. If Detroit decides they prefer not to go that direction would you entertain the thought of him as a 2nd C? Try to sell him on a 2 year deal with this team? |

The Caps drafted 4 NHL goalies in a 5-year span. Looking like the Flyers could possibly be on the verge of something like that... |

Regarding Datsyuk, 100% I'd sign him for 1-2 years. Such a smart player, very respected, quality numbers in the KHL and when I watched the Olympics he looked good. |

In his third full season you'd think he would be getting Norris Trophy consideration, getting beaten out by a third pairing guy for the Ashbee award is pathetic. |

Seriously, why do you come on to this message board?
Gudas played a whale of a season. He's not going to bring the flash and speed that Myers/Ghost/Provy/Sanheim bring but there's actually heaps of intangibles he brings day in day out. He keeps the opposition honest as their skaters know when he's on the ice and his leadership on the ice speaks volumes. |
